Partnership with lean management consultancy Staufen extended Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services GmbH (LTLS) and lean management consulting company Staufen AG are further expanding their cooperation. LTLS has developed Shop Floor Management (SFM) in cooperation with Staufen to address the logistical needs in the aviation business and has introduced the solution at its locations throughout Germany. External companies will visit LTLS in the framework of a BestPractice partnership and experience SFM live in logistics. Shop Floor Management represents an important pillar of lean management at LTLS and as such supports management in the logistics company in communicating business performance indicators, processes, and measures. Problems can be identified immediately and addressed. Processes can be monitored precisely where they happen at the place of value added and new processes implemented. “We are looking forward to continued cooperation with an internationally experienced lean management consulting company, which already has a large network of partner companies,” said Andreas Meisel, Managing Director of Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services, at the signing of the contract in Frankfurt. Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services (LTLS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik, is a leading provider of logistics solutions for the aviation industry. The wide spectrum of services ranges from transport management including engine and AOG transport through to complete warehouse management. Founded in 1998, the company now has a workforce of more than 1,300 employees. LTLS recorded a turnover of some 215 million euros in 2014.
