The Staufen management consulting firm has once again been honored by the “Wirtschaftswoche” magazine with the “Best of Consulting” award for one of its client projects. The jury was impressed this year by the operational excellence experts in the “Manufacturing & Operations” category with a project they completed for the Skoda Group’s Transportation division.
With its workforce of around 7,000 employees, the manufacturer of trains, light rail vehicles, and locomotives not only develops and produces at its headquarters in Pilsen, Czech Republic, but now also operates factories and locations in Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland, and Finland. The challenge for Staufen’s operational excellence experts was to implement a company-wide optimization and integration of processes, leadership methods, and system landscapes that would ensure this expansion course would not be frustrated by silo thinking, process interruptions, or fragmented IT in the future.
