Die virtuelle Vortragsreihe „Ready for Restart: Aus der Krise lernen und Zukunft gestalten“ startete am 9.7.2020. In der eineinhalb-stündigen Session erfuhren die Teilnehmer alles rund um das Thema Reorganisation von Supply Chains und Wertschöpfungsnetzwerken. Die vortragenden Experten Thomas Spiess, Mitglied der Geschäftsführung der Schweizer Staufen-Tochter Staufen.Inova AG, und Bernd Gleixner, Executive Vice President bei der Bruker BioSpin zuständig für Einkauf, Logistik und Produktion, beleuchteten hierbei was notwendig ist, um Krisen reibungslos zu überstehen und die Glieder einer Prozesskette intelligent zu steuern.

69 percent of German companies in the mechanical engineering industry have huge efficiency potential / using the restart after COVID-19 as a strategic opportunity – Global Market Leader Study

Köngen – Although even well before the COVID-19 crisis, the German mechanical and plant engineering industry had been struggling with a global economic downturn, trade conflicts and structural problems in the automotive industry, many companies were suffering from neglecting their efficiency potential. As can be seen in the survey conducted just before the lockdown by Staufen AG among close to 90 German mechanical and plant engineering manufacturers, themselves global market leaders, based on their own assessment, a good two-thirds of the companies had considerable efficiency reserves at the time the pandemic broke out. Now that the German industry is starting back up again, the challenge is to quickly elevate them.

After 25 years at the head of the management consultancy, which was founded by him and Ralf Stokar von Neuforn, Martin Haas is moving to the Supervisory Board and taking over as Chairman. Participants came from Germany, USA, China, Brazil, Mexico, Switzerland, Italy and Central Eastern Europe.

More than 50 percent of companies will resume “normal” work by the end of the year at the earliest / Lack of demand is burdening the new start that two out of three companies long for – International study

Köngen – Measures introduced around the world to contain the Covid-19 pandemic are developing into a long-term stress test for the industry. 56 percent of companies assume that they will not be able to resume work like before the shutdown until the end of the year at the earliest, or even over the course of next year. According to the current study “New start after the 2020 shutdown,” however, seven percent of companies fear they will not be able to hold out that long. Management consultancy Staufen interviewed more than 730 companies in April for the study. Participants came from Germany, USA, China, Brazil, Mexico, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Romania.

China is about six weeks ahead of Germany in the course of the corona pandemic. When the first serious restrictions were imposed here in mid-March, China began ramping up their factories again.
