“Digitalization 2024” Study: A superficial data analysis causes many companies to fly blind strategically

This are the results of the study “25 years of Lean Management”. For this investigation, the Staufen business consultancy, in cooperation with TU Darmstadt, has interviewed around 1,350 senior managers from German industrial companies.

2016 continues to be dominated by adaptation measures Winterthur – One year after removing the cap on the minimum exchange rate for the Swiss franc, industry in Switzerland continues its massive battle with the consequences of this uncapping. 26 percent of companies assess their current situation as bad in consequence of the currency crisis. The situation is seen as particularly dismal by companies involved in machinery and plant engineering. This is evident in the results of a study by the Staufen AG Consultancy for which more than 100 Swiss industrial companies were interviewed in January.

80 percent of Swiss manufacturing companies feel confident that Industry 4.0 will bring them major economic success. They envisage even greater opportunities for themselves through the transformation to smart factories than their competitors in Germany. The companies strongly believe that lean processes also form the basis for the transition to the world of the intelligent factory. This is demonstrated by the findings of a cross-border study conducted by the Staufen AG business consultancy. A total of 329 industrial companies were interviewed in the summer of 2015 for the Industry 4.0 index.
