Lean Management to ensure Industry 4.0 success – BestPractice Day 2015
Only 27 percent of industrial companies in Germany have actively looked at possible Smart-Factory projects, as revealed by the Staufen consultancy’s “German Industry 4.0 Index”. A majority of these companies apparently does not yet feel ready for the transition to a networked factory. It is true that some homework needs to have been completed before a successful transition can be started. Being lean and efficient is imperative to set off into the world of Industry 4.0. German industry awards bad mark to politicians in respect of Industry 4.0 – Survey
Eight out of ten companies in Germany feel abandoned by the political establishment with regard to the future-oriented topic of Industry 4.0. German industry sees itself as a world champion of “Industry 4.0” – Study
German industry is very confident when it comes to Industry 4.0. As shown by the newly compiled “German Industry 4.0 Index”, domestic companies have put Germany in pole position internationally on the road to developing the “Smart Factory”. Suppliers unprepared for order boom by airlines – Aviation industry

German subsidiaries kept on a short leash by central office – China study
One in two German industrial companies in China wants to increase its investment in the country. Eight in ten companies consider the development of new products for the local market important. However, the companies have not yet truly arrived in the Asian country. In more than half of the companies, decisions about innovations rest almost entirely with German managers. This has been confirmed by a study of more than 500 companies conducted by the German Chamber of Commerce in China in cooperation with the Staufen AG business consultancy.

Maja von Olnhausen

Since 2007, Verena Franz has been with RECARO Aircraft Seating, and today she also collaborates with Staufen Academy, where she is a trainer. Initially joining the process management team in Schwäbisch Hall, she took on her first leadership role at the plant in Texas in 2010.
